I'm Richard Lemon,
Richard Lemon is a frontend developer and creative developer based in Maastricht, Netherlands. He specializes in UI engineering, interaction design, and CSS-driven web experiences. He works at Ideebv and has been building things on the web for over 15 years — from early-stage Bay Area startups to client projects across Europe.
Who I am
I'm Richard — a frontend developer who cares about how interfaces feel, not just how they work.
My background is split between the Bay Area startup world (where I spent about 8 years early in my career) and the Netherlands, where I've been based since. These days I work out of Maastricht, building web experiences for clients through Ideebv and writing about whatever I'm working on here.
My work sits at the intersection of engineering and design. I care deeply about CSS, motion, and the craft details that make a product feel considered. I build with AI as a core part of my workflow — Cursor, Claude, and a growing stack of tools that have genuinely changed how I work.
Outside of screens: I coach kids on a baseball diamond on weekends. My son Marcus plays for the U15 HSCM team and the South East Sharks in the national Little League competition. Baseball is a serious hobby.
What I work on
- Creative web experiences — frontend engineering with a strong design sensibility; CSS, animation, interaction
- AI-assisted development — Cursor + Claude as daily tools; prompt engineering, code review, rapid prototyping
- Ghost CMS — customization, performance, Code Injection, theme development
- GEO / AI search optimization — helping sites show up in AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude)
- Client projects via Ideebv — marketing strategy, web redesign, campaign work across the Netherlands
