Overwhelmed with your fitness journey?
1. You won’t always be motivated, and that’s normal because you are human. Do it anyway, and you won’t regret it. I’ve never moved my body & felt worst afterward. Motivation fades but habits stick.
2. It Takes time! Progression is never linear, so you must be patient with the process and grateful that you can exercise. Set a goal, of course, but then really focus on how often you showed up month to month, week to week, day by day, and watch everything come together.
3. Accept that regardless of your goals, there will most likely be a time during the year when you are heavier/lighter than you’d like. Dieting all year long isn’t realistic. /paywall
4. Your goal and how you feel will be strongly dictated by the quality of the nutrients you put in your body, alcohol intake/water intake & how well you recover (stretch and sleep).
5. You’re not too busy. I say this with empathy, though, because some days, you may not be able to get in a workout. You can be a parent, managing yourself and your kids, an EMT worker, or someone who has to work many hours to survive. I get it. But there is always a systematic way to have a good workout week. There are plenty of 15-20 minutes workouts, especially with the kettlebell.
6. Accept that you should be using kettlebells more often. 😉 They are the best, and we can verbally debate this in the comments, or we can have a jujitsu match over it - I’m ducking no smoke.
